Life long learning is the corner stone of all the academic planning and activities at TJIS, Bilaspur. Teaching, learning and assessment are all intertwined and focus on learning in various settings, in and outside the classrooms. At TJIS, there is a strong belief that learning takes place best when the learner discovers facts and ideas rather than being taught. This being the information era, and the highway to a revolution of knowledge is self - learning. To this end a lot of emphasis is placed on enquiry training across all stages in the school as well as across the curriculum. Our evaluation system is also broad based. We understand that examinations are not the only way to assess a student. Formative assessment is the norm. Assignments, projects, worksheets, presentations, collaborative activities, unit tests and end of term exams are the tools through which the performance of a student is analyzed. What makes TJIS different from other schools is the courage to experiment and innovate.
