Life skill Education:
We demonstrate our commitment to each student's social, physical and emotional growth through our Life Skills program, an age-appropriate and developmentally focused sequence for Kindergarten classes through class 11. We inspire our students to become good public speakers and self-advocates, to have healthy bodies and body image, and to be empathic, effective communicators. We have developed a social and emotional support system that adapts to our students needs, and our full time Counselor and mentors are accessible to the students. TJIS seeks to prepare its students to thrive, not merely to survive.
The Life Skills program offers tools for dealing with the stress of adolescence in the modern world. Its messages and methods are carried from the classrooms into the hallways, dining room and playgrounds as framework for a universal atmosphere of respect and fairness.
A thorough and complex mix of programs and activities addresses the following major themes: self-advocacy, conflict resolution, friendships and other relationships, decision-making in social situations, choice of appropriate careers and physical and emotional well-being. With the life skills programme, our students achieve a deeper understanding of themselves and other people as individuals.
Academic Guide Study: A Unique Remedial Measure:
Each child has a learning style of its own. All children do not learn at the same pace. For those who require additional support, we have remedial classes. Children are given additional inputs. Drilling of the concepts learnt is done wherever needed. The process of remediation also includes Academic Guide Studies in which a group of 6 to 8 children is allotted to each teacher to guide them. Here intensive coaching is provided keeping test/examination in mind. One to one interaction during AGS results in reinforcing the concepts and practice in subject skills thereby enhancing the confidence of the students leading to improvement in their performance.
Language Lab and Language Development Programme:
English is a window to the outside world. To make the students gain expertise in both written and spoken English, TJIS has developed a State-of-the-art language laboratory where children use the modern techniques and Lingua phone equipments to sharpen their language skills.
English is used as a language of communication. We understand that English occupies a position of prime importance in today's world. The students at The Jain international School are trained to become fluent in spoken and written English.
Co curricular Activities: Co curricular activities are an integral part of curriculum at TJIS. Every subject whether dances, music, art, craft or theatre, is dealt with the seriousness of regular academic subject. The Performing arts focus on developing a Pan Indian identity among the students. TJIS celebrates life in all its forms and students do not lose an opportunity of performing on stage. In this process they learn to cooperate, coordinate and organize events with a professional touch.
